Grading Requirement & Fees

SKI Hong Kong Grading Requirements for color belts:
Children Class

 Two gradings per year

 All belts need to have 20 lessons or more to take the grading
Adult Class

 Three gradings per year

 White belts need to have 26 lessons or more to take the grading
Color belts need to have 30 or more lessons to take the grading
Lessons required will be calculated based on an average of 2 lessons per week

Actual lesson requirement will be posted with the grading notice.

Fees for Kyu Gradings

10th Kyu to 9th Kyu (White belt with one yellow strip) HK$200 + *
9th Kyu to 8th Kyu (Yellow belt) HK$200 + *
8th Kyu to 7 th Kyu (Orange belt) HK$250 + *
7th Kyu to 6 th Kyu (Green belt) HK$250 + *
6th Kyu to 5 th Kyu (Blue belt) HK$300 + *
5th Kyu to 4 th Kyu (Purple belt) HK$300 + *
4th Kyu to 3rd Kyu (Brown belt) HK$350 + *
3rd Kyu to 2nd Kyu (Brown belt with one white strip) HK$350 + *
2nd Kyu to 1st Kyu (Brown belt with two white strips) HK$350 + *
1st Kyu to Sho Dan (Black belt) HK$600 + * + # + bank charges
* - This is the Grading Stamp charged by SKIF Headquarters
# - This is the grading and the registration charged by SKIF Headquarters in Japan( please see below 'Dan Grading Fee' for detail. Students who gain promotion are required to pay the fee of the grade to which he/she has been promoted. (e.g. 8 kyu promoted to 6 kyu is required to pay the 6 kyu grade fee in addition.)

Junior Sho Dan (1st Dan) Yen 12,000 + 6,000 + bank charges Over 3 years of training, after/over 6 months 1st Kyu registration( Junior category is up to 15 years old.)
Junior Ni Dan (2nd Dan) Yen 15,000 + 6,000 + bank charges Over 1 year of training, after/over Junior Sho Dan registration( Junior category is up to 15 years old, over 16 years old Junior Ni Dan holders should join the undermentioned San Dan.)
Sho Dan (1st Dan) Yen 12,000 + 6,000 + bank charges Over 2 years of training, after/over 6 months 1st Kyu registration
Ni Dan(2nd Dan) Yen 15,000 + 6000 + bank charges Over 1 year after/over Sho Dan registration, age 16 and over.
Over 2 years after/over Junior Sho Dan registration.
San Dan(3rd Dan) Yen 20,000 + 6,000 + bank charges Over 3 years after/over Ni Dan registration, age 18 and over.
Over 4 years after/over Junior Ni Dan registration.
Yon Dan(4th Dan) Yen 25,000 + 10,000 + bank charges Over 4 years after/over San Dan registration, age 25 and over.
Go Dan(5th Dan) Yen 35,000 + 10,000 + bank charges Over 5 years after/over Yon Dan registration, age 32 and over.
Roku Dan(6th Dan) Yen 45,000 + 10,000 + bank charges Over 6 years after/over Go Dan registration, age 38 and over.
Nana Dan(7th Dan) Yen 65,000 + 10,000 + bank charges Over 7 years after/over Roku Dan registration, age 46 and over.
Hachi Dan(8th Dan) Yen 80,000 + 10,000 + bank charges Over 8 years after/over Nana Dan registration, age 55 and over.
Notes:
A. 3 - 6 Dan Grading Examinations can be done by Kancho and/or his nominated Honbu Instructor(s) .
B. Non-SKIF Dan holders, Dan holders from other SKIF dojo and persons living outside Hong Kong should consult SKI Hong Kong Chief Instructor before examination and certification process. All Dan Graders should consult Hong Kong Chief Instructor before Dan Grading Application. Foreign students need to go through respective Chief Instructor from their own country.
C. Dan registration fee and grading fee payable before grading. If paid in non-Japanese currency, bank charges will apply.
D. Other fees: 1. SKI HK Membership card - HK$50(HK$150 for replacement), 2. Grading Stamp ( for each grading) - HK$40 per each issue
E. Above charge rates & requirement are for references only and subject to change and to be confirmed by SKIF Honbu and SKI Hong Kong.
